Typing Practice — Learn Touch Typing

How to learn touch typing

1. Rest your fingers on the home row: left hand on A S D F, right hand on J K L ;. Feel the bumps on F and J.
2. Each key belongs to one finger — the coloured keyboard shows which.
3. Look at the screen, not your hands. Go slowly; accuracy first, speed comes later.
4. Practise 10–15 minutes a day. Most people reach 30–40 WPM in a few weeks.

What is a good typing speed?

Average typists reach about 40 WPM. 60+ WPM is fast, and professional typists exceed 80 WPM with 95%+ accuracy.
